Singapore Zoological Gardens
The Singapore Zoological Gardens provides a unique and exciting experience for its visitors. This fantastic zoo is one of the best you'll ever visit, where you can get a great view of its exotic animals without an unsightly fence in the way of all the action. The zoo has a seldom-seen method for enclosing its animals. Instead of building high cages separating the animals from spectators, the zoo's creators have adhered to the 'open zoo' concept. The animals here are kept in spacious, landscaped enclosure that are separated from the public by dry and wet moats, which are unseen by the naked eye as they expertly masked by foliage. The animals are kept in their areas by a method called Psychological Restraint, in which their own territorial nature wills them to stay within the boundaries of their cage. Some animals are also suffer from a fear of water, and they will never try to cross the water filled moat that encloses them. More dangerous animals that are able to climb well, such as the jaguars and leopards, are kept inside a clear glass enclosure, allowing unrestricted viewing of them in their surroundings.

The Zoo is home to an extremely large amount and variety of animals. Ferocious beasts such as Tigers, Polar Bears, Lions and Cheetahs can be found here. The Komodo Dragon, a huge lizard growing up to 3.6 meters is another carnivorous member of the zoo that should not be missed.

The Fragile Forest area of the park showcases creatures such as Lemurs, Tamarins, Sloth and Parrots. Take a walk here through the largest butterfly flight area in the world, and see these beautiful winged insects up close.

Wild Africa houses many exotic animals like the White-tailed Rhino, Gemsboks, Bonteboks, and White-tailed Gnus. Come face to face with a snowy white Polar Bear in the underwater viewing area, a newer addition to the park that allows visitors to see these animals swimming. You're in for a treat if you're here during 'fishing' time, when live fish are released into the bears' pool for his dinner! The Pygmy Hippo can also be viewed from underwater, as well as Sea Lions, Manatees, Crocodiles, Penguins and the False Ghavial.

The Cats exhibits is home to three exotic and rarely seen White Tigers, along with other big kitties. The brave-hearted are the only ones who will dare to venture into the Reptile Walk-Through exhibit. This area lets visitors get under the same roof as Pythons, Water Dragons and Whip Snakes. If you're squeamish you may want to skip this area and opt instead to view these animals within their cages, which you can do in the glassed display area.
