The Goddess Kali
The Goddess Kali is one of the most powerful of the female Indian deities. The name Kali can be literally translated to 'Death' and 'Time'. She is the destroyer of illusion and the killer of death and time, representing both the destroyer and creator. Kali is of the more mysterious of Hindu Deities, but is worshipped by many as the divine and wise Mother-Goddess.
She is usually depicted with a blood-stained mouth, clothed in a skull necklace and cobra bracelets. Her four arms, two of which carry a sword and skull, represent the complete circle of creation to destruction.
